Mutual of Omaha Invites Local Organizations to Apply for Volunteer Assistance on Projects Company Prepares for Annual National Month of Caring

March 30, 2012

Volunteers are crucial to the success of nonprofit organizations in their efforts to help those in need throughout the community. To lend a hand, Mutual of Omaha designates September as National Month of Caring among its employees. Last year, more than 1,400 employees and agents (1,000 from the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area) volunteered more than 5,700 hours in nearly 33 communities across the country.

Mutual of Omaha hopes to build upon last year's initiative and will be accepting applications April1-30 from organizations in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area in need of volunteers. Applications meeting the criteria will be considered as volunteer projects for the company’s third annual National Month of Caring, which will take place in September 2012. Additionally, approved organizations may qualify for a grant of up to $1,000. Interested organizations should go to www.mutualofomaha.com/nationalmonth to apply and get more information.
